Pressing apples from our orchards
An English style scrumpy (traditional farmhouse cider) for the NW cider palate - authentic but still approachable. Scrumptown is crafted with English cider apple varietals grown at our orchard in Dundee, OR. 8.4% ABV. Available year-round in 500 mL bottles and 1/6 BBL kegs.
Balanced and approachable, Scrumptown is our original blend. It is a mix of just 5 apple varieties - Kingston Black, Porter’s Perfection, Tremlett’s Bitter, Major, and Newtown Pippin. The 8.4% ABV is a natural result of the intense and concentrated quality of the bittersweet apples. Scrumptown is fermented with champagne yeast and lightly back-sweetened with organic cane sugar. The final product is a full-flavored cider with tannin and body to spare; yet it remains enjoyable for the cider traditionalist and novice alike.

2017 GLINTCAP Best In Class - Heritage Dry Category
Made from primarily two varieties of apple, Summer Set is a showcase of how complex the simple apple can be. The blend is comprised of Dolgo, a crabapple variety originating in Siberia, and Gravenstein, the national apple of Denmark; which was first planted on the West Coast in 1811. Dolgo is incredibly sour and tannic, and gives a bright and powerful tartness to the cider. It is mellowed by Gravenstein, a multi-purpose heirloom with softer acids and light tannins. French cider apple varieties are used for tannic balance and additional body. The cider was allowed to ferment naturally with the wild yeast found on the apple skins. The sharp acidity fades quickly into wonderful floral notes, with a semi-dry, balanced finish. Both Dolgo and Gravenstein are early apple varieties, and in 2016, our first year producing this cider, we were pressing and fermenting by the end of July. Summer Set is a fitting name for a cider from such early apples!

French Lane Press
Wild fermented traditional dry cider, made solely from apples grown at our orchard in Carlton, Oregon. Available in 750 mL bottles.
Silver Medal Winner at the 2017 GLINTCAP festival.
Planted in the fertile soils of Oregon’s Willamette Valley, our French Lane Orchard is the ultimate labor of love. Over 60 varieties of traditional cider apples and perry pears grow at French Lane, and this variety yields a complex and totally unique blend of fruit. Bittersweet and bittersharp cider apples from England and France lend depth, mouthfeel, and tannic astringency. Heirloom American apples brighten the cider with tartness and acidity, and their higher sugar content contributes to the final ABV - a solid 7.4%. The natural yeast which grows on the skins of the apples was allowed to completely ferment the juice, with no additional cultivated yeast strains added. After primary fermentation the cider was aged and then bottled completely dry, with no added sugar, juice, or other sweeteners. French Lane Press is truly a traditional farmhouse cider, showcasing what cider apples can be, without gimmicks, tricks, or excuses.
